British officials have been told not to engage in any sexual activity, especially with good looking women, in Russia and China over fears of spying.
According to a report published in MailOnline, UKs Ministry of Defence Manual of Security has warned British officials in these two countries to avoid sex with “beautiful women” as they could be spies.
The women could be agents of Russia intelligence service, the officials were warned.
The ministry has said that these honey traps are used to extract intelligence from officials. In fact, both men and women have been used to extract information like this.
In 2010, such a spy scandal rocked the US. Anna Chapman, a Russian woman living in the New York, was arrested on charges of spying for Russia and was deported. Chapman was a British citizen.
Later that year, another Russian woman, Katia Zatuliveter working as an aide for Liberal Democrat MP Mike Hancock, was arrested on charges of espionage on the orders of Britain’s spy agency MI5.
